This Policy governs the processing of personal data of visitors and applicants of the huszty.org website operated by the Dénes Huszty Foundation (hereinafter "Foundation", "we", or "data controller"). The Policy complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR) and with Hungarian Act CXII of 2011 on Informational Self-Determination and Freedom of Information (Infotv.).

What data do we process?
1. Data you voluntarily provide
If you submit an application for the Foundation's memorial prize, we request and store the following: your name, email address, postal address (if you submit by post), the content of your submitted work, and accompanying curriculum vitae and professional documents. If you write to info@huszty.org or palyazat@huszty.org, we also process the data you provide in the email for as long as necessary to reply.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (preparation and performance of a contract) for the application process; Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) for general correspondence.
2. Server logs
For security and operational reasons, the site's operator may record the visitor's IP address, the browser's User-Agent string, the requested URL and the timestamp of each request. These data are used only for troubleshooting and abuse detection and are deleted after a short period (at most 30 days).
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in running the site securely).
3. Browser local storage (localStorage)
The website does not set any of its own HTTP cookies. Your browser's localStorage is used for two functional purposes:
huszty-theme— remembers your chosen light/dark display.huszty-consent-v1— remembers your consent state (accepted / rejected / no response) for the optional statistics measurement described below.
These entries contain no personal data, are not transmitted to the server, and can be cleared at any time via your browser's site-data controls. Under the ePrivacy Directive this storage is "strictly necessary" and does not require prior consent.
4. Optional analytics (Google Analytics 4)
The website technically supports Google Analytics 4 (GA4), but GA4 is disabled by default. If we ever enable it, the GA4 script will load only after you explicitly accept statistics in the consent banner. Consent can be withdrawn at any time in the same banner; once withdrawn, the script is removed on the next page refresh.
If GA4 is enabled and you have consented, Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC (USA) process anonymised usage data (truncated IP address, session identifier, page views) as data processors under Google's standard Data Processing Terms and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent of the data subject).
5. Embedded OpenStreetMap map
On the Contact page, the Foundation's registered seat is shown on an OpenStreetMap-based map. Map tiles are loaded directly by your browser from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom); as a technical necessity of this fetch, your IP address becomes visible to the OSM servers. You can read about OSMF's data processing at the link above.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in displaying the Foundation's address).
Newsletter
The Foundation does not operate a newsletter, and you do not subscribe to any recurring communication by using the website.

- Server logs: at most 30 days.
- localStorage entries: in your browser until you delete them.

Data transfers
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes, nor do we transfer it to third parties for such purposes. Where a legal obligation so requires, we provide data to the competent authority (court, police, NAIH).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may exercise the following rights by submitting a request to info@huszty.org or by writing to the Foundation's registered seat (1051 Budapest, Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út 12., Hungary). We will reply within 30 days of receipt.
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR): we provide information on the categories of personal data we process about you, the purposes, legal basis, and retention.
- Rectification (Art. 16): we correct inaccurate data without undue delay.
- Erasure (Art. 17): except where law requires us to retain the data.
- Restriction (Art. 18): you may request restriction of processing.
- Portability (Art. 20): you may request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection (Art. 21): you may object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdrawal of consent (Art. 7): the GA4 consent may be withdrawn at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
